Manhattan fish market

Went to mfm for dinner because we had this groupon deal :D

Drinks with cute names! Their drinks are a mixture of sodas and some other juices which I don't know... LOL

Soup of the day, pumpkin soup. Yummy!

Garden salad, it was pretty okay

Mussels served with bread This is a MUST order! The mussels are sooooooooo damn good and the bread was so soft! I fell in love with this! The bread goes so well with the sauce!

Scallop americana, this pasta is super yummy too! Definitely must order!

What I like most in this platter is the fried mushroom!!! The rice tastes pretty good too haha

Ended our hearty meal with dessert! It's not too bad actually!

Overall, we left with happy and satisfied tummy :) definitely worth it!

So obviously the most worth it meal is their set menu (above).

Bread for starters.
> I thought the bread choice was bad. It was hard and...not appealing. Though it looks good in the photo. Compared to Italiannies, Italiannies win! (starters only, lol)

Chicken Cordon Bleu (RM17.50 ala carte)
-Crumbed chicken breast filled with ham and cheese fried to golden brown
> I thought that it tasted really yummy though the crust looks a bit burnt. But nevertheless, food was delicious and plating looks really pretty!

Lasagna Al Forno (RM18 ala carte)
-Baked pasta layered between bechamel, chicken meat sauce and parmesan cheese.
> I know. First thing that comes to your mind, WTHECK IS THAT. lolllll looks like a deserted island in the sea. My sister ordered this and first few bites were...yummy, delicious. In the end, she couldn't finish it. She felt...sick. Too much cheesiness i suppose?? But it was filling.

Chicken Chop and Mushroom (RM17 ala carte)
- Lightly battered and deep-fried. Served with a mushroom cream sauce.
>Looks ok. I see no 'greens' :( It is important to make your dish look presentable-->appealing
Should have more 'colors' for this dish. I think it doesn't taste as good as it looks...by the time the dish reaches you, the chicken chop would have been soaked and soggy. eekk

Chicken Chop "Hailam" (RM17 ala carte)
-Topped with a 'Colonial Style' sweet and sour sauce.
>This dish is DEFINITELY for those who do not really like western? LOL My grandpa who loves chinese cuisine decided to order this. He said this dish tasted okay (for a guy who doesn't like western? the dish sounds pretty ok)

Fillet of Fish 'Lady Astor' (RM17.50 ala carte)
- Pan-fried, topped with pineapple and glazed with a horseradish cream sauce.
>I thought the name of the dish sounds really cute! So is the dish! Everything in this dish tasted really delicious as it feels 'light' and the pineapple definitely brings out the flavor and lightness of the fish.

Fillet of Fish "Caprice" (RM17.50)
-Pan-fried finished with a mushroom cream sauce garnished with fried banana.
>WHAT?! Banana+Fish? looks weird & awkward for that pathetic piece of lumpy banana... Would not order this. eee. unless, you insist :P

Chicken Piccatta (RM17.50 ala carte)
- Selected chicken breast dipped in egg and cheese and fried to perfection. Served with pasta and scented with rosemary jus.
> If all you care is about the quantity and you like pasta? This seems like a pretty good choice. It does look...filling!

Fish Teriyaki (RM17 ala carte)
-Pan-seared and finished with a teriyaki sauce
>Like i said, if you care only about QUANTITY. This also seems like a pretty good choice for you big eaters. But this dish doesn't really look appealing to me...looks like a chinese dish instead. (helllo, western please!)

Smoked Norwegian Salmon (RM23.50 ala carte)
-Served with traditional condiments and dill mustard sauce.
> Save the best for last! This dish looks wayyyyyyyyyyy more scrumptious compared to the picture description on the menu. And, if you're the 'typical Asian'.. you'll definitely order the most WORTH IT one..Am i right?? AHAHHA anyways, don't worry because after eating the other side dishes from the set menu, you'd be full...and TRUST ME, you will definitely regret if you didn't order this salad! (unless you're a super big eater then don't order this :p) Each piece of the salmon is SO THICK and JUICY and...ahhhh. SO GOOD. However, some of the vege is a bit bitter...no idea why la. But personally, this was the best choice to me!!!

Overall, 8.9/10 for only being available at Penang :( Because this place seriously serve really good food.
The 3 branches mentioned are located at:
1) New World Park
2) Tesco Tanjung Pinang
3) J.L Gourmet Cafe, Prangin Mall

If you need more info, just click this link! :) They have maps to their branches, menu and everything else!

Have a great weeeekkkkkkkkkkkkk!
Till then,

Anak east coast

My mom bought a few groupon vouchers to dine at this newly opened restaurant, this restaurant wouldn't be hard to miss because you'll definitely pass by it if you go ss2!

To be honest, I wouldn't choose to dine here because it doesn't seem like they serve things I would eat, but since my mom bought coupons already, we went there for dinner. They have lots of table and the interior is quite nice.

So we ordered quite alot of food because we had a total value of RM60 to spend haha

Signature Nasi dagang RM8.50

This is pretty yummy! But I didn't eat much, but I loved the curry!

Nasi kerabu RM12.50
I think this is my second time trying nasi kerabu after a really long long time, & let me tell you, this is super duper yummy!!!! I loveeeed the rice! I would definitely go back there and have their nasi kerabu!

These were the only 2 pictures I managed to take because the we just gobbled down the other food cause we were too excited/hungry haha

(picture taken from groupon)
(picture taken from groupon)
Hainanese fried noodles
This is yummy as well! Mom & I loved this, something different from the usual dry noodles.

Signature thai laksa
I didn't really like this because of the type of noodles they used. It was kinda spicy for me as well.

Fried fish noodle
My brother LOVED this, but it was okay for the rest of us.

(picture taken from groupon)
(picture taken from groupon)
Signature mini dumplings
This is really yummy as well!

Peanut paste
This was yummy, but there were some undissolved paste? But I guess it's okay! ahha

Overall, I would definitely return because it's pretty cheap for some decent food especially the nasi kerabu :D

The Grizzly Bear

Helloooo! Hope you all had a great week! Hang onnnnn.... Saturday's just 1 hour away :D

Anyways, we decided to eat out and guess where we went for dinner??? Somewhere Goldilocks wouldn't go! xD AHHAHAHAHAH (only if you get the joke ;P)

YES. This place is called The Grizzly Bear. According to the owner of The Grizzly Bear, Mrs Jess said that this is a family business--she's the 3rd generation to inherit. :O

The place located seems familiar? Yep, VERY close to Restoran O&S (will give add at the end)

Old-school style menu board.

Pictures of Grizzly bears! so artsy...

Special Lunch Menu: only RM10!

Person on the left is the owner of The Grizzly Bear.

The Grizzly Special: Small Bear RM 55 nett
-Mushroom soup, Jumbo Cheese Sausage, Chicken Chop, Fish&Chips, Fresh array of Salad, Medium sized fruit juice of choice. Sauce(mushroom/garlic/black pepper/onion)
> This was seriously....delicious AND filling. Super duper full. According to the owner, she said 2 pax can finish this. But, just look at that portion!!!! 5 of us (***depends on how much you can eat=big eaters) can finish this and was very full. Satisfied.

>The Grizzly Special Big Bear is RM80nett. Same as the Small Bear but EXTRA 'dishes' like grilled chicken chop, lamp chop and large size fruit juice (instead of medium).

Grilled Chicken Sandwich RM10
>Some of us might think...hmmm...grilled chicken must be those thin slices of processed meat...errr no... this one really is a chunk of grilled chicken sandwich. Quite delicious and sort of a 'healthy' option. But i must comment on the salad though... Doesn't look like a salad..LOL....they should probably serve more/different types of veges (personally) However, the ingredients are fresh!

Mama Bear's Homemade Mash Potatoes RM8
> Potato or potatoes-that-are-mashed-up-and-added-with-sauce lovers. This is a must when you visit this place!!!! Popular among the teenagers. They have bits of celery pieces in it, but you definitely cannot taste any of it (if you hate celery, seriously, you will only taste the crunchiness...other than that, no taste of the celery at all) The mash potato is served hot and it melts in your mouth with every bite! yums!

Fruit Juices
(S: RM5-left, M: RM7-right, L: RM12)
> OK, some of us are pretty skeptical about ordering fruit juices; 30% fruit, 70% water+ice+sugar and all those nonsense. But this fruit juice..is 100% all from the fruit! That's why it is worth it because it taste so good... definitely satisfy your thirst and cools your body from this hot weather!!!

Overall, 8.5/10 for the good service and food. Still haven't try everything else yet but so far so good...
They've only opened for about 4 months now...Apparently, the owner is a Christian!!! And she's requesting for those who have/sell Christian Music CDs, she'll buy from you or you can donate it to her! :D

I'd definitely recommend everyone (especially the BIG EATERS) to go try out this place. You won't regret it! ;)

Ribs King

Hello hello! Today's review is for all you foodies who love Chinese cuisine. This restaurant is called Ribs King located at Sea Park.

We've always pass by this place but never went in! So we decided to have dinner here :)

Ribs King restaurant.

Interior view.

Interior view. It's quite spacious, comfortable and feels like a family-kind of restaurant.

Honey and Soy Sauce Pork Chop (Small: RM12, M: RM16, B: RM20)
> Most of the dishes (like this one) has its price standardized. So it really depends on what you feel like eating. So this dish we ordered was small. The sauce was really good; sweet and a bit sourish. The pork was quite tender and they have enough "fats" (if you know what i'm talking about).

Bitter gourd Fried Egg RM8
> This was quite tasty. You really can't taste the bitterness (which i like very much). But it was kinda thin but tasty though. Personally, I don't think it's worth RM8...

Stir Fried Scallop with Honeybean (same standardized price as the meat)
> This one was RM12. You can choose other types of vegetable but i decided to order this to try the scallop. There were 4 scallops only but i thought this dish was quite tasty as well (though the portion is little).

Special Seafood Beancurd RM8
>If you like beancurd... this is very tasty! Fair amount of pieces and price! Would recommend this but there are also other options you can choose

These aren't just the dishes sold in the restaurant...There are many other types: sets, noodle, fried rice and western dishes. 4 of us ordered these and drinks (each per person) and guess how much it costs? RM53+ only! And we were all full at the end of our meals!!!! (Y)

Overall, 7/10 considering that I (personally) don't really quite like Chinese cuisine that much. But if you want to eat "home-cooked" meals, this is the place to go! :)

Check out this website if you need more info on their dishes :)

Address: No.25, Jalan 20/7, Taman Paramount, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

p.s YES, i do realize that it's RIBS king and i didn't order any ribs dish related! AHAHA sorry.
p.s.s if you want the wifi password...it's 88888888. (yes, because we're THAT nice :p )

Stay tuned as we're gonna have giveaways sooonnn :D
