myBurgerLab

Everyone has been going crazy about myBurgerLab ever since it's opened, it's black bun, creative designs and cool burgers! It was nominated Best New Restaurant of the Time Out KL Food Awards 2012. & they open from 5pm till sold out, better go there early or you'll have to wait really long or you won't get to eat at all!

Popcorn chicken

Better than kfc's! It's quite big and there's quite a lot, every bite is tender and juicy. Sometimes it taste a little burn as well. Other than that, loved it.
RM9.00

The Waterballoon (Beef)

Their new burger! Yes, it's watermelon and lychee, looks weird but it tastes great! The watermelon makes it juicier and it compliments each other. Looks healthy as well! :D
RM16.50

The Hangover (beef)

Love this because there's hashbrown and maple syrup! You can taste the sweetness and juicyness in every bite. Don't overeat this, you don't want to get 'drunk'. HAHAHA
RM16.00

Yummy

Chic A+ (RM 15/16)
This is also MBL's signature burger, but i definitely prefer beef A+ . They are famous for their beef burger btw :) Not that their chicken ain't good, ITS SUPER DELICIOUS, tender as well. It really depends on what you like!

Chicken and Egg dilemma (RM15.50)
OH.MY.GOSH. If you love fried chicken, YOU'D BETTER TRY THIS!!!! Egg-cellent salad, cheddar cheese and panko fried chicken? Best combination everrrrrrr......
(sorry for the blurred pictures :/ )

Beautiful Mess 4.0- RM18+RM4(fries)
Most popular burger among customers of MBL. Beef patty, sunny side up egg, Fried portobella, cheese. WOW. Every bite blows your mind. Once you have your first bite, the egg yolk breaks and all, causing a 'mess' but a beautiful one ;)
-most expensive burger btw, but totally worth every cent!

Ordered a set because you cannot NOT eat their fries! Comes with a soda drink (6 choices) with unlimited refill too. Plus they have their own chilli sauce that I can never get enough of. Or you can just order ala carte it's called awesome fries (RM 9), it's really THAT awesome. Pure genius (Y)

Some of their burgers are quite pricey but they use good quality ingredients so I guess it's worth it & the waiting line used to be almost an hour (but its only 10-30 minutes now, they definitely have improved
.) for your burger but trust me, it's worth the wait! Finally sinking your teeth into it when it arrives - the best feeling ever! Though it might be quite mainstream for some people, well.. you decide yourself ;)

Check out their website  to stay updated. Closed on Mondays.

Til then, x.

Italiannies - lunch set

If I'm not mistaken it's RM29.90 for the lunch set. Their portions were quite small though.

Soup of the day

Classic carbonara (Fettucine pasta tossed in parmesan cream sauce with smoked beef bacon and fresh button mushrooms.) Loved this because each strand of the fettucine was nicely coated with the cream sauce and I didn't feel very stuffed, some pastas just make you feel very full and bloated (jelat)

Brownie. It was really thin and small and chocolatey.

I wouldn't say it's veryyy worth it (for a lunch set) but you would pay for yummy italian food, right? :D

Check out their website here.

Nadeje

Well, apart from food, you can tell that we love desserts as well :D (who doesn't?!)
We have FINALLY (yes, again) visited Nadeje- everybody has been talking about it & it's finally here in pj! There's no need to go all the way to Melaka to satisfy your cravings! This place is located at 3 two square. You've got to pay for parking in the building and trust me, it ain't cheap.

We bought the mille crepe cakes (a.k.a layer cake) and there weren't any space :( So, we brought 'em to Starbucks :Dv HAHAHA & I think the good thing is that every slice is RM9.50 each!

Tiramisu
This one tasted good, well I guess its only the top that looks different.. hahaha.. not bad.
However, I think that it was just okay, didn't really have the tiramisu taste.

Raspberry nama donut
GOSH. This, I've got no words to describe this. Fyi, it is NOT a donut, just a shape of a donut. so not worth it! RM7.50 for this! But we bought it just for you guys! (Ngawwww) So we can do a review and you would know what to NOT buy the next time you visit this place! :) When we have our first bite, it tasted like--cheese. It feels like eating a melted ice cream, I guess?? This sweet piece of thing is very sweet. At the bottom of the "donut" is a super thin layer of crust; like super thin. You can't really taste it. Generally, this thing taste like cheese cake but with raspberry flavour in a donut shape. Nothing special...

Banana Chocolate
All the other mille crepe cakes looked the same and probably would taste the same because they use (I think) the same custard cream for the layering. SO, if you would like to taste something different, try THIS or the rum raisin (sadly we did not get that one). The taste is much more distinguishable. I really liked this one the most. The banana definitely brought out the flavour of this whole cake. Really goooood.

Original
I wouldn't recommend this. We bought this to see whether it tastes different than the other cakes. And it really is different. I was wrong. I really thought that it tasted like the tiramisu, but its not. It's definitely different. But I would not recommend paying RM9.50 for something---too ordinary?

However, I preferred this over the tiramisu cake because I don't know why but that taste left quite an impact in me. Homemade custard cream with Tahitian Vanilla Beans mix with Fresh cream. It would melt smoothly in your mouth!

Mango
This mango mille crepe was quite okay. Not too bad. There's a layer of jelly and cream at the top of the mille crepe as you can see it in the picture. It tastes quite sour and didn't go quite well with the cake. But there are some people who loved it.

If you're taking it away, they'll put ice packs in the box to keep your cakes cold and fresh!

Overall, the desserts are not too bad. You can definitely de-crave your milli crepe cravings here (LOL). The place is really small, but we'd rate it a 7/10. I think it's quite affordable and reasonable. You can give it a try and tell us what you think!

Stay tune as we give you more great reviews!

The Grind Burger Bar

Yes! We have FINALLY tried The Grind Burger Bar!
First impression. Very nice and lovely place. It's such a nice hangout and chillax-kind-of place. You can have lunch/dinner while chilling with your friends.

SO...Here goes,

The Grind House Burger (RM19 pork/ RM21 beef)

The Grind House Burger (beef)

I think that overall, it was ok. The bacon was quite small, couldn't really taste it with the burger. The pink sauce is called dracula sauce! Sucha cool name but it's so sad that the sauce didn't leave an impact like their sauce for the fries! The patty was just okay though, had a lot of meat that was.... unchewable? But there are some people who like that kind of patty so, good news for you!

The Honor'lulu Burger (RM17 pork/ RM 19 beef)
I ordered this because there's pineapple in this burger.
Inside this burger,
-Pork/Beef patty
-Grilled Pineapple
-Caramelized Onions
-Natural Cheddar
-Crisp green of the day (basically vege)
-Onion silvers
-Fresh tomatoes and Mayo

I like the burger. (not love, probably because I'm not really a fan of burgers?) I'm not very particular with food. But I must say that the patty was not seasoned well enough. The buns are super soft but it became soggy towards the end. I couldn't really taste the pineapple. I think they put a few of it. The fries is TOO ADDICTIVE. But the portions are really small though. Other than that, i'm okay with it. Kudos to a pretty presentation.

The Wild 'Shroom Burger (RM17 pork/RM19 beef)
All the burgers come with fries. The price differences is because of the different patty; either pork or beef.
Ingredients:
-Pork/Beef patty
-Sauteed wild mushrooms
-Natural Swiss Cheese
-Crisp green of the day (basically vege)
-Onion silvers
-Fresh tomatoes and Mayo

According to our friend, that he loves it very much. The Grind Burger Bar has so many choices of burgers.
The most epic thing was that they gave us 10% discount, but the service charge was 10% also. Couldn't blame them for the service charge because they sell wine and beer fyi. So basically, we didn't get any discount and we paid for the burgers only.

Overall, we would definitely come back. I really wished the price wouldn't be so expensive and the set comes with a small portion of fries and no drinks (which is really a bummer). Well, the place is awesome! But they still need more improvement! You can bring your date here. Really nice quiet and cozy place. If you just want to make sure your stomach is full and have a great fellowship, this is definitely the place. I think this place deserves a 7/10.

P.S The Grind Burger Bar is NON-HALAL. They serve pasta, hotdogs, burgers, soups, salads, desserts, beer, wine, etc... Be sure to drop by, you won't regret it. Though the place would be quite hard to find if you don't know anyone who went there before, but it's the same row as kanna curry house.

Till then, stay tune for more awesome food reviews!

Big joe's

Recently there's this new shop opened after yippee cup closed down, it's called big joe's! Whenever I pass by the shop there's this tent outside the shop and it looks like they're bbq-ing something. So we decided to try it!

Footlong sausage with mash potatoes. I think that it was okay.

Beef burger. I didn't like it because the patty tasted weird, even ramly burger tastes better.

Lamb chop. The gravy did not go well with the lamb at all.

The 'popular' ayam panggang.

They got our order wrong, and keyed in the wrong price. We told them but they didn't really admit...?! But they deducted our price in the end.

Maggi goreng.
I think it was okay but quite oily.

I don't think I would go back there because the first time we went there they took more than an hour to serve our food. We waited so long and the boss (I think) was aware that our food have not arrived, they kept rushing the kitchen crew to hurry up. When it was served, it wasn't even hot and the food was just..... nothing special. Also, we saw other tables' food had quite a lot of left overs, I guess I know why now. Though some of the workers were quite friendly but some just don't seem to notice you no matter how hard you wave at them.

No.44, Jalan SS2/66, SS2, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Opens from 5pm to 5am. Price range from RM10-RM30.

Markets & The bee @ Jaya One

I was craving for The bee's pancake for awhile now & since they're having markets on that day we decided to drop by. When my pancakes arrived I was quite disappointed by it because it looked really bad... but it wasn't until I tried it, it was REALLY bad. I was super disappointed because it used to be the best pancakes I've ever had!

This is how the pancakes looked like when I first tried it. The pancakes were perfect & I'm not even joking! It was slightly crunchy on the outside & soft on the inside plus their caramelised banana, served hot so it sorta melts in your mouth with the butter and maple syrup. I swear I would never get bored of it!

And then this is what I got the second time I went there....

It looked burnt and the banana doesn't even look like it was caramelised and there's no confectioner's sugar sprinkled on top! What's worse was, it wasn't even hot when it was served! I can't even describe how unhappy and disappointed I am. It tasted really bland and you could really taste the flour.

Banana buttermilk pancakes RM18.50, the first time I ate it, it was worth the money, and now? I don't think I'll ever order that again.

Bee's burger RM23.50. Don't know if it's really worth because it's only served with fries.

Was quite unhappy so decided to try fries and maple syrup and surprisingly it was not bad!

I guess the next time I'll just stick to their sandwiches or desserts, no more pancakes for awhile.

Visit The bee  for more details :)

Chocolate praline & peanut butter macarons from Jaslyn Cakes. Loved the chocolate praline! It would've been better if it was stored in a cold place. RM8 for 3

They had cupcakes and other cakes too, would really love to try some of  Jaslyn Cakes' next time!

Also had watermelon fizz & cherry root beer from The potong! RM5 each. Their popsicles were really refreshing & not too sweet. The weather was too hot & we couldn't resist so... no pictures :p

Can't wait for the next Markets!

til then, x.

Family Dinners

So as you can see, most of the time we post pretty looking and expensive pictures of food that we have already (tried and tasted) on our blog.. BUT, we also post food that don't look so pretty in pictures, but definitely scrumptious when you put 'em in your mouth! At the same time, having good fellowship with your family!
I will be doing a comparison on 2 chinese restaurants. Then you can decide on which restaurant is better.

First, Restaurant Paris.(NOT an italian restaurant FYI)
I went to this place called Restaurant Paris (very near SSTWO mall). And to be honest, it was okok. like 50-50. According to my aunt who used to love this place, told me that the food was not as great as it was last time. She rated it a 3/10 for this place.

Famous Ribs

I've no idea how much this dish cost, but the bill was RM180+++ and my aunt said that it definitely wasn't worth it. This pork ribs are definitely delicious, they are soft and tender (according to my aunt, they gave loads of fats) but to me, it was the best among the other dishes we ordered.

Egg plant stir fry with long beans (spicy)
Not a fan of Brinjal (Egg plant) but this dish was spicy and the brinjals were too soft. Long beans were too hard. HAHA, doesn't taste that good.

Venison meat (deer meat)

AT first, just by looking at it, i really thought that it was beef! Turns out to be deer meat. I love the meat, but sad to say that TOO much ginger spoiled the taste. Ginger is suppose to kill off the smell from the meat, but this, wowwww, too much that i had to wash the gravy off the meat!

Fried Tofu

This dish was OK. It's sort of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not bad. The sauce definitely gave some flavor.

Squid with long beans (AGAIN) and (super spicy)
I was definitely disappointed with this dish the most! I love seafood, i love squid. But this was, *sigh* no words to describe how disappointed I am! First of all, the squids are so tiny, though they maybe a lot, but still--. Long beans again?! Why put long beans with squid?????? Should have totally gone with Fried Squid.

Fried Yam with assorted vegetables
This dish was my sister's favourite dish. It was ok for me though, overall for this dish, i'd give it a 6/10.

and this, is the conclusion of the dinner @ Restaurant Paris.....

Finalist?
So, as you can see, the pork ribs came in first (to finish). Then the Fried Tofu and yeah, the rest, still some leftovers... My relatives did NOT like any of it at all. But i was definitely ok with the pork ribs and fried tofu.

Now, for the 2nd restaurant i'm going to compare is located at Subang.
Second, Xfrens cafe and restaurant.

Xfrens Cafe and Restaurant

Fried Egg Plant
I KNOW. It looks like french fries doesn't it? Guess what? It taste WAY better than french fries and it's definitely a WAY healthier choice! :D
As you all know (referring to Restaurant Paris), I am not a fan of brinjal (egg plant). but this....
OMGOMGOMG So tasty and crunchy! I am NOT exaggerating nor am i trying to promote this restaurant (in case you didn't know, we went there to try without invitation :p ) But seriously, SO DELICIOUS. I've never in my entire life, would eat Egg plant. But for this, an exception!!! WOW. this dish is easily 9/10. (Y)

Garlic pork
According to the restaurant, this is their "famous dish". Very small plate. Each of the dish here is about RM12 (small) and RM15 (medium). The pork was definitely delicious, small deep fried pieces of pork.

Paku pakis
I have absolutely no idea what is Paku Pakis in english. But this vege dish was good! It looks a bit like kangkung or the potato leaf. But this is different. And nice (Y) Spicy a little though!

Marmite chicken
This dish is my family's favorite! I mean, who does not love chicken with marmite sauce!? SO delicious!!! Especially when its still hot! So sweet and soft. Was surprised that it didn't really taste any bitter (because usually marmite has some sort of bitter taste, idk LOL) I mean, i can still taste it now as I'm blogging about it! MOUTH-WATERING DISH!

Squid w/Creamy butter sauce
At first, I was like-- CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS DISH SO BADLY. And then..... when it came, i was like.. whuuuttt??? Why are the squids so thin? and.. hard-ish looking. Well i gave it a try anyways, and it was ADDICTIVE. period. Kept eating it like nobody's business. The squids are thin, but tasty, not very crunchy, but tasty! :6

Bean curd w/Pumpkin Gravy
I am also NOT a fan of pumpkin, whatever, soup, gravy, the fruit itself, I generally do not like it. This dish, i must say, very impressive! I loved it actually (not as much as the fried egg plant) The taste(according to one of my cousins, said that it tastes like fishball) It's soft on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside, a lot of flavors, definitely blends together really well.

Nyonya Fish
When our family goes out to have dinner, usually, we don't order fish. Well, every meal every other day is FISH. My aunt insisted on it, so mehh, ordered it anyways. I was taken by surprise with this dish! The fish meat was SO SOFT. The tom yum gravy....wow.... i'm speechless. The flavor and combination is good!

Overall........
Every dish is a winner! YAY!
This restaurant deserves a 9/10! You can tell by the empty dishes, it was definitely a good meal. The place is small and crowded (weekends).

SO, the final decision is yours to make, check it out for yourselves! I won't decide it for you. But you can tell which i'm rooting for *wink wink*

The teapot cafe

This cafe has been around ss2 for more than a decade! & I finally had the chance to try some of their food. So sad to find out that they've already closed down, would've definitely went back for more as their interior design was nice and cosy, perfect spot for a date, teatime & a catch up session!

Chicken sandwich with fries. I thought it would taste normal but it took me by surprise, definitely memorable.

Blueberry pie. It would've been great it they served it with ice cream too.

Red velvet cake. Though it was kinda small but it's nice. The cake was moist and the cream cheese wasn't too much.
