Vivo

It's been awhile since we've updated! So here it is, vivo :D

Pomodoro (Finely chopped onions and garlic sautéed with Vivo's special tomato herb sauce.)

This was not too bad..

Oriental baked rice

I didn't try this but my friend said it was good.

Creamy mushroom pasta

I liked this because there's mushroom! They're quite generous with them too :)

Chicken lasagne.

This was okay for me, not very WOW to me. But didn't feel jelak after finishing it :D

I forgot what pizza is this called... But yeah, it's quite a small portion, probably one person can finish this, or 2 small eaters :)

Okay that's all for now, not much description for this because I went to vivo quite some time back, sorry!

Stay tuned for more :)

Food foundary, blossom deli, krispy kreme

Always craving for snacks and dessert? Well don't worry! We've got the place for you :D well some of them.

These cakes are from blossom deli, it's somewhere near ss2 mall, located along the shoplots, might be easy to miss if you're not from this area. Blossom deli is mostly famous for their pan mee, & also their cakes! Absolutely cheap & yummy!

Cheesecake (about RM6/7)

Not too dense, just nice!

Chocolate cake (RM4.50 if I'm not mistaken)

This was okay for me, wasn't moist enough for me probably because I still LOVE plan b's choc cake :D

Blueberry cheesecake (RM6/7)

Just like the cheesecake, just with blueberry.

Carrot cheese cake (RM4.50)
Probably the cheapest & yummiest cake you can find in ss2! LOVE their cream cheese icing.

Chocolate ice cream cake (about RM6)

I think it's decorated with mars bar slices, really yummy! Especially this ice cream cake has biscuit crust :D
This wasn't the creamy ice cream time, it's somehow different...

Next stop, food foundary! It's in section 17, happy mansion. It's really cosy and a good place to hangout. Would prefer if they're air conditioned though.

Caramel crepe cake (RM11)
Fell in love from the moment I sunk my teeth in it. For caramel lovers & sweet tooth, you'll LOVE it!
Almond bits on top of the cake makes it crunchy and gooey along with the caramel topping, absolutely delish!

Earl grey lavender RM11

Love this too, though the earl grey taste is not that strong & I couldn't really taste the lavender. But overall, it's still yummy :)

Who doesn't like donuts? If only they opened Krispy Kreme in PJ area...

A few flavours that I remembered, oreo, new york cheesecake, choco cake (i think), almond, caramel

I think I still prefer j.co's/big apple's donut. Don't know why maybe this isn't really my cup of tea.

So that's all for now! Should really go try out blossom deli's cake & food foundary's if you haven't. You won't regret it :) Stay tuned for more!

Monster Bites

Hello again! How was your weeeeekkk? Anyways, I'm going to write a review on this place called Monster Bites. It's located at the JayaOne building.

So this is a place where my university friends and I go and have our breakfast/lunch/brunch.

They have really cool stuff hanged on the walls.

This is their signature drink; Vietnam Coffee.
They are also famous for their delicious sandwiches-RM9.80 ala carte (unfortunately there ain't photos YET) But they taste good; simple yet delicious.
tbh, I would prefer Subway's Sandwiches over this... However, considering that JayaOne has NO Subway (yet, hopefully they would open one soon), Monster Bites seems like the ONLY decent and 'quite affordable' place to eat.
Their cashier/ordering counter.

This... was quite pathetic. Not going to lie.. Its the Breakfast Special from 7.30am-10.30am.
>fried egg + cheese ham toast+ local coffee/tea= RM6.80
To me, this is pretty expensive... and I think, anyone could do this at home; fry an egg, put a cheese and toast your bread.... (is it that hard?LOL)

3 choices for the Breakfast Special. I wouldn't choose any of this based on the price factor and food portion..

Monster Pizza.
>Cheese, chicken ham, mushrooms, olives, onions, tomatoes...
Can't exactly remember how much this costs.. Maybe around RM9.80-RM10.80 for ala carte?? But this was quite tasty....
Yet again, is it something you can't do?
And...yet again, Do you have a choice if other restaurants are NOT open early in the morning for breakfast or other eateries are worse than this place and you just need to have your breakfast?? GAAAHHH

Fries! They ARE famous for their fries! (some might say that they are better than MyBurgerLab???)
Well for me, I would prefer MyBurgerLab's fries. No doubt their fries are delicious and their sauces are (Y) DA BOMB. But, it depends on each individual preferences right?

Nachos.
> The sauce on the nachos kind of remind me of KFC's cheesy wedges' sauce! HAHA
Don't worry, I did NOT buy this... It was redeemed! (they have a loyalty card) Quite tasty! But not worth the money (if you purchased it)

Fried Chicken combo (I think that is what they call it)
THE. ONLY. REASON why my friends have their breakfast/brunch/lunch at Monster Bites. They LOVE Monster Bites' fried chicken. This combo costs around RM13.80 with a drink of the day- green tea/ice lime tea/ice lemon tea. Not too pricy.
HOWEVER, one of my friend said that the coleslaw..... TASTED WEIRD. Like it's too sour? too much vinegar I guess.

OVERALL: 6/10
Improvements?
1) They should really improve their breakfast menu.
2) Have more variety on the main menu
3) Fries not as tasty (sometimes)

They actually do have delivery! Which is quite... cool? for a small shop! LOL
They have a loyalty card! Every RM10 spent, you'll get a chop and you can redeem some yummy food!

Check out their facebook page if you want to know more!

Bulgogi brothers

Okay so other than japanese & western food and a little thai, finally tried korean food! & honestly, this is my first time trying korean food so I wouldn't know what to expect, here goes!

Soji-to

I don't drink alcohol, but the rest of them said it was good!

Appetizers/side dishes are served before your meal. They're refillable btw! Like one on the right, in the middle. I think it's something like mash potatoes? but it's sweet potatoes!

A closer look.

Another side dish

Kangdoenjang RM 22.90
Traditional korean soybean paste stew with minced beef, green chilies, tofu and doenjang.
This was not bad, but the taste wasn't memorable.

This was the same but it's chicken.

Chicken bibimbab RM26.90

Why did I choose bibimbab? Cause I've always seen my friends raging about it, saying how good and yummy and scrumptious it is. Did I regret it? Well sort of. Or maybe it's just not my cup of tea. After mixing it all together, it just tasted.... odd. My mom said it was like 'chap fan' (mixed rice) & honestly, I don't find it VERY special.... I couldn't finish it and I had to take away, don't think I would try bibimbab ever again. Maybe you wouldn't agree with me but, this is my first time trying korean food, maybe it's suppose to taste like that, maybe it just doesn't suite me :p

Chicken Naengchae

This was the dish that I liked best among the rest! The chicken was very well marinated, and it was really juicy and flavourful :D plus they serve it with salad + tomato slices in this special sauce, really good!

Cielo dolci ice cream!

What's better than ending your meal with ice cream? Just head on to cielo dolci, same floor as tesco, and 2 flavours for RM8.80! Yes it might be slightly expensive but hey, it's handmade & it's gelato! My must-choose flavour would ALWAYS be earl grey tea! & the other flavour I chose was green tea :) Really worth a try! Have yet to try their nasi lemak flavour (their famous one), can't wait though!

Well, that concludes my very first experience of korean food. I hope I get to try some diff korean restaurant! If you have any recommendations, please do comment! :D

'til then,
x.

Kita no Zen

Yes, we know... we haven't been updating for awhile now, but that doesn't mean that we won't! :)
Anyways, yes, it's another Japanese post (we really love Japanese)...anyhow, enjoy!

Pari pari kani salada (s)-RM18 (b)-RM28
- crab meat and flying fish roe salad with chef's dressing. Between you and me, I'd rather choose Hokkaido's salads. This one is not too bad, it's really simple; crab meat, fish roe, vege, vege, vege...Sauce is quite tasty, but I still prefer sesame oil on salads (Y)
Garlic Rice- RM9
- It's quite tasty.. But you can try Kaisen Chahan (seafood: RM13) might be tastier? haha

Sakura Chirashi Don Zen-RM38
-I ALWAYS choose dinner set because its 'so-called' worth it. If you just order ala carte, it's about RM30+.. might as well get the set right? Chawanmushi was smooth and tasty! Miso soup was quite good! Loved every bite.

Nabeyaki Udon-RM23

-Hot Udon noodles in claypot. It was seriously HOT! hahah the soup was burning, everything in it was burning. But the soup tasted great! (according to friend, the soup tastes better than Hokkaido's) The Udon was really smooth and slimy?in a good way of course! Quite delicious.

Cha Soba-RM18
- Big portion and tasted quite okay. The typical kind.

As you can see, the menu for lunch/dinner has quite a lot of choices. However, price differs for lunch sets and dinner sets. Dinner sets (some) seems to be slightly expensive? Maybe its the portion..or idk LOL

Peach and Pear crepe- RM10.80
-Crepe layered with peach and pear served with white peach sherbet topped with honey and crumble. According to parents, the only reason why they want to have dinner here is because of the dessert. YUMMY! I love the crepe so much, however, I feel like there is a lot of crème and super thin pieces of crepe. It's good though.

Marshmallow vanilla caramel-RM9.80
-Vanilla and salted caramel ice cream topped with butterscotch sauce, almond, pecan and marshmallow.
This LOOKED bigger on the menu, apparently not.. hahaha! For those who have sweet-tooth, you will definitely love this. Even the description of the dessert makes you wanna go crazy! Everything seems like a perfect combination! except the marshmallows; they looked..odd! HAHA

Overall, this place deserves maybe 8/10? Comment and tell us what you think; if you agree/disagree!

Till then,
xx
