Simple Life

Time flies really fast! Another week has gone by but we are still here to give you more reviews on where or what to eat or NOT eat! HAHAHA So we decided to dine at this place called Simple Life at Paradigm Mall (opposite Tesco/Aunty Anne's).

**Disclaimer: Reviewing the food in the perspective of a non-vegetarian. (no offence to anyone/vegetarians)

Quite a spacious restaurant.

Mixed fruit rojak RM10.90
- They never really didn't specify what was in the mixed fruit rojak...but we manage to taste and figure out what's in it; cucumber, turnip, pineapple, pickled carrot, apple, tomato and fried yao char kuih. The rojak tasted cold, fresh and the sauce tasted pretty good. Worth trying!

Udon Miso Soup RM13.90
- There wasn't any description on what it is in the dish (which was a 'boo' for me). I think every dish should have the ingredients mentioned so that people can decide easily. My sister ordered this and she did not fancy this dish at all. However, I liked the udon noodles; tasted chewy and very organic-ish. The coriander smelled strong and the soup tasted pretty okay to me.

Multi grain rice nasi lemak (with organic coconut oil) RM14.90
-It looks like the typical nasi lemak that you usually order but it definitely tastes different. The "meat" was replaced with a healthier version= pumpkin. The presentation of this dish looked pretty nice but the food was--so so. Not 'wow', just okay...Everything tasted pretty organic? haha

from left to right: Body Detox Juice RM8.50, Fresh Passion Fruit RM7.90 and Natural Antioxidant Juice RM9.90
  1. Body Detox Juice: Carrot, Tomato and Lemon Juice (Improves bowel function and reduces risk of prostate cancer)- Tasted pretty yummy to me although the lemon juice dominated the whole juice flavor.
  2. Fresh Passion Fruit: (reduces stress and prevents anemia)- Ermmmm, not sure it was worth RM7.90...to be honest, i can get the same exact taste (probably sweeter) at night market/pasar malam only at RM3.50 per cup.
  3. Natural Antioxidant Juice: Apple, pineapple, orange, cucumber and beetroot (Natural antioxidant, improves complexion and boost immune system)- This has got to be my favorite juice among the rest. Super delicious and yummy! #musttry

We tend to be skeptical about how restaurants make their juice (whether they add more water and sugar instead of more fruits). But you could really see a difference in their juices! Usually when you leave your juice untouched for several minutes, you can start seeing the pulps (?) all floating up and is left with clear solution at the bottom of the cup. However, their juices did not have any sign of that! (Y) So kudos for giving what they promised: no added water/sugar, all natural fruit juices only.

Coral Longan RM6.90
- The dessert/drink was super refreshing! The coral was crunchy. However, at my second visit here; this dessert tasted really blend--tasted like ice cold water with a pieces of red dates, longan and coral in the bowl. When i had it the first time, it tasted pretty good though.

Porridge
-Couldn't really remember the details of this dish (sorry, forgot to write it down) But i can still remember what it tasted like. A lot of ingredients in this porridge (that's for sure). Tasted pretty yummy and healthy. The porridge was smooth and delicious! worth trying...

Simple Life Charcoal Sandwiches RM13.90

-Had to try these!!!! Looked pretty good... The fried stuff in the middle are fried mushrooms. By the time it was served, it was all soggy and tasted really oily although it was pretty addictive (at some point). Alright, let's talk about the sandwich. The charcoal bread was crispy and the veges in it tasted super fresh and crunchy! The 'meat' and the layer of egg was seasoned well. I really liked the sandwich a lot.

Overall, 7/10.
I'm not a vegetarian and i really love meat. However, as a non-vegetarian...I enjoyed the dishes despite of the comments made. I think it was pretty pricey especially when there weren't any 'imported' meat or whatsoever involved...but i know organic ingredients can be expensive and hard to get as well. I did appreciate the healthier options available. Everything about this restaurant felt pretty organic/healthy. Service is pretty fast as well. I don't mind going back here to eat...but for me (and based on individual preferences), I'd rather spend it on Japanese/Western food (total bill was almost the same price).

Do let us know what you think! :)
Have a great week ya'll

xx
