Yama & J Fusion Sushi Buffet

This place is located at  Jaya One (above Starbucks). We bought the vouchers from Living Social...so this deal was SUPER (thank God) worth it. If i'm not mistaken, the deal was RM88++ for 2 person? The total bill was RM100. But we only paid RM2...for the refillable green tea. LOL

Appetizer: They only gave one dish for the appetizers.
-Some kind of seaweed. I LOVE THIS! Reasonable seasoning. (Y)

Edamame RM6
-This was pretty salty....but it was okay. It was inclusive of the deal anyway.

Miso Soup (RM5)
-Too much pepper. TOO MUCH. Taste like chinese soup but with a lot of pepper. Taste and flavor is there but....I didn't finish it. Only finished what's inside the soup and not the soup. LOLOLOL

Sashimi basket.
-THE ONLY WORTH IT DISH (from the deal) TO EAT IN THIS RESTAURANT. SO GOOD. I'm sorry, too excited about this particular dish. All the sashimi tasted so fressssshhhhhh and delicious! The butterfish....GOSH. so smooth and tasty. The salmon...THICK and FRESH. Juicy. Everything in this basket is SO delicious.

Mango Waikiki Roll RM29
>Fresh Salmon, avocado and crunch inside; topped with mango and red tobiko with chef signature mango sauce **uncooked
-This tasted pretty okay. Thankfully all the ingredients chosen tasted good together. A lot of rice though...sticky japanese rice. Super filling.

Salmon Martini RM43
>Tuna, white tuna and salmon slice in martini glass with chef signature yuzu wasabi sauce **uncooked
-This was the first dish to arrive. I thought it was pretty pricey if you just order this alone...thankfully this is refillable (in the deal). But I didn't like the sauce; the dish was "hot" and not cold. It was pretty hard to swallow with the sauce. Sorry! Only the sashimi was good.

Can't remember what this is...but by the time we ate this...I couldn't stand it anymore...everything was full of rice. The fusion of sauces were kind of weird.

Happy Sumo Roll RM43
>Inside with shrimp tempura, cream cheese and snow crab; outside deep fried with potato strip around on top; topped with chef signature yuzu, homemade eel sauce and strawberry sauce *cooked
-Not worth trying at all. Didn't liked the strawberry sauce with it. It tasted too......no....not tasty at all. Everything was just....not good :(

Overall, 4/10 for the dishes. 8/10 for the service. 9.5/10 for the sashimi basket.
I wouldn't go for this again unless they have an offer. The sashimi basket was the only thing that was seriously good. Some might love the fusion taste, but for me...I'd prefer something more simple and less complicated.
