Sushi Tei (part 2)

Merry Christmasssssssss!!!!!! I love how Japanese restaurants have different kind of special menus each month!!! SO EXCITING (especially in the month of December)!!!! Anyway, this is part 2... if you haven't check out part 1, you can check it here :)

Salmon Mental (RM6.50). Kaisen Cheese Salad (seafood) (RM5.80). Tamago (RM2.00).
>They serve the best & tastiest salmon mentai (according to friend).

Garlic fried rice (RM10++)
> Apparently not as good as Sakae sushi's. Doesn't have enough garlic taste. Expensive for a plate like this.

Kani Avocado Salad (RM14.80)
>Crab meat, avocado and fresh vegetables. The salad is just...okay. Vegetable tasted reallllyyy bitter.

Spider Salad Roll (RM11.80)
>Soft shell crab and lettuce roll. It's actually spicy (**for those who don't eat chili)... tasted okay... If you love soft shell crab, you probably would like this dish

Ebi Don (RM14.80)
>the prawn looked.. soggy after the sauce and egg that was topped on the prawn. But if you're a 'fan tong' , you can try ordering the other types of donburi available

Sawara Crunchy Roll (RM16.80)
-Spanish Mackerel Crunchy Roll

> I personally didn't really like it... too fishy taste. But other people loved it... it's on the special menu! Go try it?

Dai Dai Roll (RM15.80)
> I thought this dish was pretty good. Although they SHOULD write the other ingredients in the dish on the menu. My friend ate and she had to drink lotsa water to get rid of the 'spicy' taste. You see that green sauce there? yeah, it's wasabi. HOWEVER, it wasn't that super strong wasabi taste. It actually tasted really good. No wonder they call it 'dai dai roll'= die die (hot dish) LOL

Overall, 7/10
The quality is not too bad. But i feel like their standards have dropped a little.

Merry Christmas,
and have a great week guys!

Square dotz

This cosy little (not quite little) cafe is located in ss2, it's a corner house actually instead of the shop lots in the 'ss2 square', it's opposite chemopharm that row, and this shop is not that hard to miss. This shop has two floors, not so much seats downstairs but more upstairs. I think they have some kinda open mic at night? Not too sure though, went there for lunch only.

They have really cute drawings and stuff around the house!

Probably you could propose to someone here? Hahha.

Chicken mushroom carbonara pasta. It wasn't too bad but it wasn't memorable.

Bacon pasta, same as the other pasta.

Top: Chicken with mashpotatoes and mushroom with vege. The chicken was okay but I think they could be more generous with the sides.
Bottom: Shepherd's pie. I don't recommend this dish.... not much flavour at all and..... I don't think it's even a pie...

Tiramisu, it was okay as well.

Panna cotta! This was mocha flavour if I was not mistaken. It's something like pudding? But not really. A smooth texture and yeah it was my first time trying so not much comments.

I think this place is suitable for people who wanna chill and chat with friends or do their work cause the place is really bright and cosy :)

You can check out their fb page here.

Swensens

What do you think of when you hear the word 'Swensens'? Ice-cream. Mmmhhmm. BUT, Swensens do sell other dishes for lunch/dinner/supper :D

Creamy Mushroom RM12.90
Shiitake and Button Mushrooms served in a sourdough bread bowl.
>looks appetizing. But if you like this kind of dish, I'd recommend you to try the one at La Manila (Taman Megah area)

Sourdough 49ers chicken RM22.90
Chicken slices, Turkey bits, Cheddar cheese sandwiched between sourdough football buns.
>The sourdough buns were really tasty. Fries were just okay.

Fisherman's Wharf Salad RM28.90
Crisp mixed greens with carrots topped with a medley of fish bites, calamari, breaded shrimps and zesty pineapple bbq dressing
>most expensive salad. Not even worth it. It didn't taste that good.

Coney Frank RM15.90
Spicy meat sauce and tomato sauce.
>It was okay only. The side dish: pineapple and coleslaw was....weird

Meatballs in pepper sauce RM14.90
SO little and price is..... Not worth it. But apparently the person who ordered this enjoyed it. so yeah.

Swensens Combo RM24.90
A galore of golden fried fish bites, butterfly shrimps, calamari rings and breaded chicken.
>Don't know whether to say it's worth it or not. But after eating this, i went home and had a tummy ache. Not blaming their food. (probably it's just me/i overate) Fish bites was not fresh at all. It was cooked unprofessionally, seasoning was not good at all and only 2 pieces of calamari..... just, no.

BBQ half chicken RM23.90
Grilled half chicken in smoked bbq sauce, US potatoes and vege of the day.
>Sauce is tooooooo sweet. Tasted weird on the chicken. Pathetic dish overall. Hope they can improve on it.
>

Sticky chewy choco RM5.90
At least their ice creams were good.

Choco Pop RM10.90
We have to give them a little bit credit. They were kind enough to give my uncle this one for free as a birthday present.

Choco walnut pie on a sizzling skillet with sticky chewy choco ice cream, butterscotch cream sauce and marshmallows sprinkled with almonds and chocolate chips.
>One word: SUGAR. toooooooo sweeeetttt. But it was OK.

Overall, 5/10
If you're gonna pay this much, i'd recommend to go places like T.G.I.F or Chillis. But if you don't mind, you can go try it anyway! The branch I went to was at Subang Parade. Maybe other places serve better ones?

Till then,

xx

T.g.i.f

Bonjour! (yes, i've been taking French Classes :D )

Since tomorrow is Friday.... We're gonna do a review on THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY (T.G.I.F @ 1 Utama) It's been a 'loooooonnnggggg' time since we've updated this blog. Fear not, we've been to many places and they're gonna be posted up SOON after our exams! For now... ENJOY! :D

Fried Mozzarella RM13
This is sooooooooooooooooooo cheesy! It's chewy and...WOW

Beef Potato Skin RM29.90 for 10
It's pretty expensive for just 10. HOWEVER, when you dine at T.G.I.F, this is a #mustorder!!!!! Well-seasoned potato skin with cheddar cheese melted and topped with chopped beef bacon and dipped into a healthy tasty sort-of yogurt. It melts so perfectly in your mouth; leaving you wanting more of it!!!

Club Sandwich.
I love the fries! You can really taste that saltiness on those delicious fries. SO GOOD. The Sandwich was quite simple, but it's tasty. I wouldn't really recommend ordering this UNLESS you really loveeee sandwich.

Chicken and Cajun Shrimp Pasta. RM39.90
This dish was comme ci comme ca (not too bad, not too good). This dish was too cheesy and quite....not so good. There were only a few pieces of chicken meat, but it tasted OK... I still prefer the one at Tony Roma's--check that dish here !

Snapper Vera Cruz.
Not sure if this dish was called Snapper Vera Cruz. Didn't try it but my cousin seemed to enjoy it! haha Dare to try?

This salad was soooooooooooooo scrumptious. SERIOUSLY. I don't know what are the ingredients in it, but it sure is super tasty. Avocado always taste so good with salads!!

Last but not least, chicken fingers.
I did NOT like this dish... Expensive, tasteless and not worth it at all.

Overall, 8.8/10
I've always loved T.G.I.F but there are other restaurants that serves very similar dishes.

Till then,
Stay tune for more awesome reviews!!!
