Kuantan

Road trriiippppp! So a few days ago, my family and I went to Kuantan (Dad's an event organizer, so he had a group at Bukit Gambang, Kuantan) while the rest of us....TAGGED ALONG! AHAHA

So if you're stopping by at Kuantan, you may want to check this few places out! :D

FIRST STOP : UK LOH

This photo taken from : perutbesi.blogspot.com
No idea where exactly this place is because i wasn't the driver! HAHA my relatives took us to this place to have lunch. Apparently the couple (locals) who started this restaurant had one in the U.K., they came back and opened one here in Kuantan.

Taken by me :) Their menu
When we arrived, the place is super crowded! Luckily our relatives were neighbors with the owners! haha Around 3pm and they are sold out! (I'll tell you why)

Sui Gao (Dumplings- 5 pieces per bowl)
THIS. WAS. MY. FAVORITE. DISH. OF. ALL.
Personally, I don't like any kind of dumplings at all... But i tried...and... i... *speechless*
TOO DELICIOUS. I've never tasted any dumplings like THESE; so fresh, tasty and when you bite once... you'll be smitten! It's so SO good, you have to try.

Wan Tan Mee
You can either choose noodles or rice. I chose this but i regretted. Not because it wasn't good, but the rice tasted so delicious~Their yao fan (nasi minyak/oily rice?) is SO SO good..WOW! (a fan of chicken rice' rice. LOL)

Char Siew and Siew Yok
Let me tell you a secret...... (shhhh) This was NOT our dish, but it came to our table. All of us were super blur (including my aunt who ordered the dishes) and SO, we had... a few (quite a lot) of bites...
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS, SCRUMPTIOUS!
The owner told us that you have to pre-order this dish because its their best sellers (sells out really fast). She took back this dishes :( BUT, gave us one plate for free in the end! so kind and generous of her.
Normally, I would order roasted chicken at a chicken rice shop because I don't really like char siew or siew yok that much.. but this... YOU MUST TRY!
#musthave #musttry

This, was our actual dish! HAHA. Tbh, the chicken was not seasoned really well, quite tasteless and some are undercook. Their char siew was da bomb (Y)

NEXT STOP: DESSERT! (duriannnnn)

So i manage to capture the place where we had our dessert.

somewhere here. hahaha
There are actually quite a lot of places to have durian, but you can drop by this place if you want :) Parking space is quite limited. So, car pool if you can.

*ta-da*
Durians were really good! yummy! (the bottle too cute, had to take one home. hehehe...)

 LAST STOP: Dry goods!

If i'm not mistaken, kuantan is famous for its salted fish! (correct me if i'm wrong)
Our relatives brought us here to shop for some salted fish.

ikan bilis, apa apa pun ada... :)

all sorts of snacks!

Overall, this trip was super fun!!!!! UK Loh definitely deserves a 9/10.

Bonus review of the Night/Day Safari at Bukit Gambang Resort, Kuantan

For some of you who may not know, fyi...... Bukit Gambang Resort has a mini (kids) theme park, water park and night safari. My family were very privilege to be treated like VVIP's when we visited the safari. We visited the night safari on the first day :D

3 lions; 1 male, 2 female. When you enter, this is the first thing you will see. A super huge den built for 3 lions! lol

My sister and I with 2 trainers AND 2 "baby" WHITE lions. omg. We were THAT close with it!
#wecameoutalive

since we were VVIP's, we were the only ones allowed in with the cubs! Best experience ever!

Farm village. Our private tour guide told us if we wanted to buy 'perfume', he would give us 100% free. LOL turns out to be the smell of the goats, cows and buffalo. Smelly, in a clean way (LOL WHAT?!)

They have A LOT of types of horses! super cool....

My grandma with some pony (:

These ponies are still in quarantine for 3 months (in an air-cond room!!!! need to make sure they are used with Malaysia's hot weather)

They also have fire shows! (sorry for the blur image; samsung S3 camera)

A skit featuring Tarzan. lol. It's in a stadium! (super crowded)

Bat caves.

This is located inside also. But they 'segmented' the places (SUPER HUGE LAND). This place is called the Jungle Walk. (only at night)

DAY 2 : Wild savannah

You've got to take a tramp to see these animals; giraffe, deer, etc. If i'm not mistaken, only 30% of the animals are here... There are a lot more that are not imported yet.

Tigers! These wild animals are very secluded in the jungle. Apparently they are super wild and can never(?) be tamed. But they are so super pretty!!!!

The lions are more awake during the day.

A turkey showing off. HAAHA. The day safari is pretty boring. The fun starts only during the night. But if you purchase, it's a package; day and night. You can go in and out for the whole day.

Grandma at the malayan house.

some other stuff.

Till then,
have a great weekend!
